Ron Cox has been in this
industry since 1972.
He has extensive experience
as a salesman, sales
management, and, since
1985, as the VP/Co-Owner
of Professional Filing
Systems, Inc. in San
Antonio, TX.
Ron Cox is a Viet Nam combat veteran of the 101st “Screaming
Eagles”. He served with the 101st Military Intelligence Company
in 1970 thru 1971. Most of his tour was spend at Fire Base
Rakkasan providing unattended ground sensor support and intelligence.
Upon return to the states he was hired by the Sperry Remington
Office Systems division to sell filing systems and supplies.
Sperry Remington later became Kardex Systems. In 1975 he moved
to San Antonio Tx. as a Government Sales Representation for
the local Kardex dealer. In 1985 he and his wife, Betty, created
Professional Filing Systems, Inc. PFS is a woman owned Texas
Certified HUB. In 1998 and 1999 PFS created the web sites filingsystems.com
and the e-commerce site filingstore.com.
Ron has helped clients
design, purchase, and install systems that store and retrieve
1,000’s of file folders and those that handle 100’s of thousands
of file folders. He has designed warehouse systems that totally
automated a major hospital warehouse and designed and installed
systems for clean rooms. Ron Cox helps clients create records
management software systems that manage small departments up
to enterprise wide systems.
Some of the systems sold
store guns, eye glasses, pathology slides, legal evidence, fingerprint
files, consumer credit files, mortgage files, credit files,
accounting files, HR files, food, supplies, tools, ammunition,
student records, student loans and more.
Ron Cox has helped Government
and Dept. of Defense clients design, select, and implement storage
and retrieval systems for over 30 years. Over these years he
has found that most clients are not aware of the solutions,
products, and services, available to them. In addition, they
do not have the time to research and become knowledgeable about
these options. They are subject to the input of salespeople
that may be more driven by their sales quotas and commissions
than they are in providing a solution that meets the need(s)
of the organization.
FilingSystemsConsulting
was created by Ron in order to provide the unbiased information
that organizations need in order to make informed decisions
about solving their storage and retrieval needs.
Ron’s background in government
sales, specifically in to Department of Defense organizations,
have always been driven by true desire to provide these clients
with the best solutions.
Among his major projects
he has helped clients design and install systems that totally
automated a US Army warehouse. For a US Air Force base he helped
designed and installed a computer integrated, totally automated
filing system for. The original planning for this organization
included 14 file clerks and office floor space that was not
available. By installing a computer integrated horizontal carousel
system the client was able to perform the work with only 4 file
clerks. In addition, the floor space savings generated by the
horizontal carousel systems was approximately 75% less floor
space than the original plan using vertical carousels.
Other projects have been
systems that house:
- Weapons
- Eye Glasses
- Pathology Slides
- HR Files
- Flight Helmets
- Tools
- Ammunition
- Personnel Files
- Medical Records
